5% Lugol's iodine:

Potassium iodide (KI) 10 g
Iodine 5 g
Distilled water 100 ml

Dissolve KI in about 20-30 ml of distilled water. Add iodine and heat gently with constant mixing until iodine is dissolved. Next, add additional distilled water to the 100ml mark. Store in amber glass-stoppered bottle in the dark.

Ingredients of this 5% per cc:

Iodine. . . . . . . . . . . . 50mg
Potassium Iodide. . . . . 100mg
distilled water. . . . . . . 1 cc

This is the time honored iodine remedy that has been employed for humans and animals alike over the last hundred years. In this day and age, if you study our diet and our horses' diet, you will discover that iodine levels are decreasing and toxins that tie up free iodine are ballooning. Dr. Jarvis found giving lugol's along with apple cider vinegar to be an excellent protocol for the immune system and fighting infections. Dr. Brownstein found that most thyroid disorders are a product of an iodine deficiency.

Feed about 1cc a day/per horse for 6 months or you may feed as Dr. Jarvis did with his basic dose of 1 teaspoon of Lugols mixed with 4 oz of apple cider vinegar + 4 oz water. One teaspoon is equal to approx 5 cc.

Warning: All iodine products can be toxic, or even deadly, if taken in excessive amounts. Follow the directions within reason and keep out of reach of children.

Shake well before dosing.
